=============================================

Sighting of the Moon on 1st Night of Rabi-al-Awwal:

  • Pray 4 raka’at nawafil salaat. In each raka’at after Surah Fatiha, pray 7 times Surah Ikhlas. After completing the salaat, offer its thawwab to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

It is written in the Book titled Al-Awrad that when the moon of Rabi’ Al-Awwal is seen that night one should read 16 rakat Nawafil prayers by making the intention of two rakats. In every rakat, after Surah Fatiha, read Surah Ikhlas 3 times. After reading the 16 Rakats read the following durood (salutation) upon the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) 1000 times and continue reading this darood (salutation) upto 12 days:

Allahumma salli alaa Muhammadinin-Nab-yil ummi-yi wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

Thus he shall see the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in his dream but one must read it after Isha and sleep while in the state of wudu (ablution).

It is written in “Kitabul Mashaikh” (Book of Islamic Scholars) that from the night on which the Hilal of Rabi-ul-Awwal is seen, if one recites the following Durood 1,025 times after Salatul ‘Isha  he will see the Beloved of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in his dream:
“Allahumma ‘Salle-‘Alaa Muhammad-iun Wa-Ala Aali Muhammadin Kamaa Sallaita Alaa Ibrahima  Wa-‘Ala Aali Ibrahima Innaka Hameed-um-Majeed.”

1st 12 Nights or the 2 Nights – the 2nd and the 12th

It is in the book titled Jawahir Gaybee that in the month of Rabi’ Al-Awwal for 12 days keep sending gift of the reward of the  20 raka’at salah (prayer mentioned below) to the Blessed soul of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Because the Companions of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) Tabaeen and Taba Tabaeen (may Allah be pleased with them all) also used to send the reward of these rakats as a gift to the soul of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). The salat is prayed as follows:

In every rakat surah Ikhlas is read 21 times. If one is not able to do this prayer continuously for 12 days then one must read the perscribed 20 Rakats on the 2nd and the 12th days and send the reward of this prayer upon the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ). As the readers of this prayer have been given glad tiding of Paradise in their dreams by our Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) may our souls be sacrificied upon him. And seeing the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and him (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)giving the glad tiding even though his  being behind the curtain is like him (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)truly giving the glad tiding as if living.

On 3rd Rabi-al-Awwal. Pray any of the following:

  • 1.Pray 4 raka’at Nawafil salaat. In each raka’at after Surah Fatiha, recite Ayatul Kursi once, Surah Taha once, Surah Yaseen once, and Surah Ikhlas once.
  • 2.Pray 2 raka’at Nawafil salaat. In each raka’at after Surah Fatiha, recite Surah Ikhlas 25 times. After the salaat, offer its thawwab to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Then go into sijdah position and pray for the fulfilment of your needs. Insha-Allah these will be granted.
  • 3. A person praying Surah Ikhlas 360 times or 607 times on this day gets a lot of thwaab for doing so.

SALAT DURING ANY DAY OF THE MONTH:

The auspicious practice of the Holy Prophet’s (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) Companions (the Sahaba) during Rabi-al Awwal was to read 20 raka’at salaat during the  month and offer its thawwab to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). In every Raka’at, they recited Surah Fatiha once  followed by Surah Ikhlas 21 times. After completion of  the salaat recite Durood Sharif 100 times and Surah Yaseen 3 times.

RECITING THE HOLY QUR’AN  DURING 1ST TO 12TH RABI-AL-AWWAL.

Recite the Holy Qur’an at least once between the sighting of the moon of the 1st and the 12th Rabi-al-Awwal, and offer its thawwab to our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

DHIKR DURING THE MONTH.

From that night upto the end of the month, if one reads the darood (salutation) written below, upon the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) one thousand and twentyfive times after Isha prayer. Then that person shall see the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)  in his dream and that durood is:

Allahumma salli alaa Muhamnmadinw wa’ala aali Muhammadin kama sal-laita ala Ibrahima wa ala aali Ibrahima in-naka Hamidum-Majeed.

  1. 2. And in the same book Al-Mashaikh it is written that whoever reads   the following duroods in the month of Rabi’ Al-Awwal 125,000 times, that person shall certainly see the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in his dream and that darood is:

As-salaatu was-salaamu alaika ya Rasul-lallah.

EVERY NIGHT.

During this month, commencing with the sighting of the moon, after Isha prayers, recite the Durood mentioned below 125 times. Inshah-Allah, you will have the privilege of seeing the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in your dream.

“Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammadin kama sal-laita ala Sayyidina Ibrahima wa ala aalih Sayyidina Ibrahima innaka hamidun majeed.”

 12th RABI-AL-AWWAL – BIRTHDAY OF

HADHRAT MUHAMMAD MUSTAPHA

(sallallahu alaihi wasallam)

FAZILAT: This is a very special day. Let us rejoice on this day when Allahu ta’ala sent the greatest gift to us all, His most precious creation and the most beloved Messenger, Hadhrat Muhammad Mustapha (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) for our guidance. Allahu ta’ala has stated that He would not have created anything if He had not created Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and we are to love him more than anyone else. We should make a sincere effort to express our love for our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). We should thank Allahu ta’ala for having born Muslims and in the Umma of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), the Umma to which many earlier Ambiya (Prophets) (alaihimus-salaam) expressed their wish to be born into. Allahu ta’ala sent 124,000 Prophets to the world and the Holy Prophet (sallalahu alaihi wasallam) being the last Prophet.

Those who love Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) always hold and arrange gatherings in the month of his birth, hold feasts, do charity, express their happiness, narrate and hear the incidents and details about his auspicious birth and express their emotions and great warmth. Because of the blessings of Milad Sharif a comprehensive mercy becomes evident on those Muslims. One of the peculiarities of Milad Sharif which is experienced in the year in which Milad Sharif is conducted is that it becomes a cause of prevention from calamities and troubles and getting good news of fulfilling one’s wishes.

It is mentioned in Mavahib-ul ad-Duniya: Allah the Almighty bestows His Special Favour and Mercy on one who makes celebration in the nights of month of birth of Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) as one makes celebration of Eid. Those people who get pained to celebrate this occasion have, as a matter of fact, no love for Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Then how can they make a claim of being a Muslim? Do they recite Kalima only superficially? Why are their hearts opposed to this love?

Rasulullah (salllahu alaihi wasallam) used to give a feast on the Maulood nights and narrate events that had happened when he honoured the world and during his childhood. Hadhrat Abu Bakr Sidddique (radi Allahu anhu) when he was Caliph, used to call Sahaba to assemble on the Maulood nights, and talk about the miraculous evens that happened when Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) honoured the world.

The renowned Ulama, Allama Maulana Abul-Khattab Maghribi (rahmatullahi alaihi), wrote one of the first books on Maulood which he named ‘Kitabul-Tanweer fi Maulood Baseerin-Nazeer’ wherein, during 7thCentury Hijri, he writes the following narration:

“Hadhrat Abdulla ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) reported that one day at his home he was discussing with others the events of the birth of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and the listeners were enhanced by what they heard, they thanked Allah and sent Durood upon the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). At that moment, the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi waasllam), came to the assembly suddenly, and said to them, “My intercession  for you is made accepted.”

One should note that Hadhrat Abdullah ibne Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) is one of the most respected As-hab who quoted the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) as saying, “Abbas is from me, and I am from Abbas.”

These were for those who understand the status of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

If one tries to understand this rEmark from the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) with wisdom then one will realise the felicity therein.
