All India Ulama & Mashaikh Board President and World Sufi Forum Chairman Hazrat Syed Muhammad Ashraf Kichchhochvi condemned the brutal attack on Nankana Sahib Gurdwara, and termed the heart-wrenching incident as strictly against the teachings of the Prophet (pbuh). He said that when the Prophet created the state of Madinah, he first safeguarded the rights of minorities there and ensured to protect their places of worship and their lives and properties.
He further said that the government of Pakistan should intervene in this matter immediately and take strict action against those who perpetrated this heinous and atrocious crime and maintain the sanctity of the gurdwara. Since Guru Nanak Devji, the first Guru of the Sikh Brothers was born, therefore, the place of devotion is historically rooted and should be respected, he explained. Hazrat appealed to the people of Pakistan to follow the path of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and made it clear that if anyone does this again, it would be a direct violation of the Prophet’s teachings. So every Sikh should be protected in Pakistan, he said.
He also said that every Muslim in India is in solidarity with Sikh brothers and does not tolerate such activities of vandalism, because Islam does not give anyone the right to hurt one’s religious sentiments. To stand with the oppressed is one of the major objectives of All India Ulama & Mashaikh Board, Syed Ashraf concluded.
