Celebrating International Women’s Day: Are Women independent of taking decisions in twenty first century?

To celebrate International Womens Day Sarojini Naidu Centre for Womens Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia has organised several programmes. A few important events like interdepartmental debate competition on the subject Are Women independent of taking decisions in twenty first century and a Quiz Competition was held in the seminar room of Department. of Geography, JMI.

A panel of judges Prof. Mehtab Manzar, Prof. Nuzhat Parveen and Prof. Shahnaz Parveen chose the winners and prizes were given. The first prize of the debate competition was won by Mr. Ivnish Juneja, Student of M.A Gender studies. The first prize for the Quiz Competition was won by a team of Mr. Anwar Hussain (M.A. Gender Studies), Ansar Ahmad (M.A. Gender Studies) and Aditya Kumar (M.A. Geography)

Later in the afternoon a film titled Persepolis was screened followed by a discussion. The Programme ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Sabiha Hussain, Hony. Director of the Centre.
