JMI organises a two-day International Conference on Teacher Education

Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia is organising a two-day International Conference on Teacher Education: Challenges, Opportunities and Strategies from Dec 7-8, 2016.

The conference attempts to engage with reflective practices in teacher education in a holistic manner as one continuum from school to university. Also, it hopes to suggest ways to strengthen the practical experiences in classrooms and schools, to create teaching/learning environments that support personal development, stimulate intellectual growth and high levels of achievement, as also to encourage creativityby setting high ethical and professional standards and institutional mechanisms at all levelsto promote excellence in teacher education.

Mr. Naseem Ahmad, IAS, Chairman, National Commission for Minorities, Govt. of India will be the Chief Guest at theinaugural function to be held on Dec 7 at 10:00 am at theDr M. A. Ansari Auditorium.

Prof. Joanna Madalinska-Michalak, University of Warsaw, Poland will deliver the key note address. Prof. Shahid Ashraf, Pro Vice Chancellor, JMI will preside over the inaugural session.

18 interactive sessions have been lined up to cover issues relating to the provincial, national and international developments in education especially teacher education with the idea to provide attendees access to the fields latest resources and tools, cutting-edge research, best practices and dynamic leaders.

Prof. Furqan Qamar, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi will be the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Session which will be held on Dec 8 at 3:30 pm at the FTK CIT Conference Hall, JMI.
