Responding to a political statement that ‘Muslims should go to either Bangladesh or Pakistan’, Founder and President of the All India Ulema and Mashaikh Board (AIUMB), Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kichhouchhwi said, while briefing the media:
“Nation belongs to all countrymen, hate speech is an insult to martyrs”.
He said the nation is not the personal property of any religious community but it belongs to all the Indians and it is ridiculous to trigger such unsolicited issues.
Such a hate speech, he said is a sheer insult to those martyrs who lay down their lives while guarding our borders.
He further said that the politics of hatred is hampering the progress of the nation and it must be stopped at once. The government of India must seriously think about it.
He said: Everyone fought against the British together for the independence of the country, and all the Indians have been doing sacrifices for the interest of the country since then. It is a sheer waste of their invaluable contributions to divide the country in the name of faith and community. Appealing to all the Indian people not to pay heed to hatemongers, he said, “we must not put an end to our Ganga-Jamuni culture and we must conquer hatred by love.
