The Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, the World Assembly on the Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought and the Secretariat of the Muslim International Forum announce the organization of the world forum on the proximity of the Islamic schools of thought (madhabs) ‘Unity of Islam – Unity of Muslims: Foundations of Dialogue’ to be held on October 18-20, 2016 in Moscow.
The forum is to be attended by the heads and representatives of international religious organizations, representatives of public and religious organizations from Russia, Iran, Turkey, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia.
The spiritual unity of Muslims is one of the fundamental values enjoined in the Holy Qur’an: And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided (3:103). However, since the first centuries of Hijra we have been witnessing increasing disunity between Muslims, which, eventually, entails a situation, when one group of Muslims does not even consider another group Muslims. It was for disunity to prevent Muslims from finding an appropriate response to
the challenges of the European civilization in 18th-20th centuries. It, among other things, caused the modern intellectual and spiritual crisis, which entails the springing up of such organizations as ISIS, DAISH, al-Qaida, Jabhat al-Nusra, etc.
Hazret Syed Mohammed Ashraf Khichochwi from Dargah Kichowcha Sharif – Uttar Pradesh ,
Hazret Syed Tanveer Hashmi from Dargah Bijapur – Karnataka ,
Haji Syed Salman Chishty from Ajmer Sharif Dargah – Rajasthan ,
These Sufi leaders have been invited to represent INDIA in this global dialogue of Unity and eliminating the extremist groups and their extremist ideology associating with Islamic global society.
This assembly of global leaders will discuss the modern intellectual and spiritual crisis that has fueled the growth of extremist organizations that contradict Islam’s message of Peace. It will also attempt to understand and lay the groundwork to address and cope with technological and intellectual challenges facing Muslims in the context of globalization.
While this initiative will primarily focus on finding practical ways to accentuate substantial unity existing in diversity of viewpoints considering sideline issues, it’s culmination will be dedicated to the heart of Islam, Ihsan (pursuit of excellence), i.e. spiritual and inner development that can overcome the limitedness of all exterior forms and approaches. This path is known as tasawwuf [Sufism] in the Sunni tradition of Islam. India’s representative in World Sufi Spiritual Traditions, will throw light on Unity in Diversity and how to cultivate the pluralistic approach within spiritual traditions across the globe.
Dua’s and Blessings from Ajmer Sharif – the blessed seat of Chishty Sufi order in South Asia from last 800 years….
