Failing to make the central government and the security agencies act on the sensitive information related to the ISIS sympathisers in India, a group of desi hackers have now dumped the data of terror supporters on an open forum in the internet.
Mail Today on Friday reported that a group of Kerala-based ethical hackers — Mallu Cyber Soldiers — will be releasing a database of terror supporters, who are misusing the social media to spill venom in the minds of youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
After a prolonged operation of over 10 months, these hackers have accessed the confidential information of the alleged ISIS sympathisers that includes the photo, name, email ID, model, IMEI number, SIM number, mobile network code and MAC address.
This reporter is in possession of the data shared by Mallu Cyber Soldiers but Mail Today is not publishing the details till it is verified by the security agencies.
Sources close to Mallu Cyber Soldiers claimed that they honeytrapped the ISIS sympathisers who are motivating the youth for a war. Over 50 Indian hackers were involved in the extensive operation to get an access to their encrypted chat via social engineering.
“Hackers pretended as vulnerable group of people so that the ISIS sympathisers target them. When they crossed the stage one, all of them reached a closed group where discussions were carried out in an organised manner. Further, when they are spotted as the most-active members, they entered into the private chat window and at last when the stage of payment dealing arrived, the hackers managed received a call from the sympathisers. This is where the location and the other confidential details were retrieved from,” the source explained Mail Today.
“Despite having concrete information about the ISIS sympathisers or other terror supporters, the government or the intelligence agencies do not pay a heed to it. Instead of conducting a primary investigation, the motive and patriotism of the hackers are questioned,” said Kislay Chaudhary, chairman of NGO Indian Cyber Army.
“Several other hackers, who are intellect enough to honeytrap the terror supporters feel handicapped even after accessing confidential information that could work as anti-terror measure. As a result, few groups have started sharing these details on the social media to get noticed in a hope that this step would urge the agencies to at least consider the information as an input,” said an ethical hacker, requesting anonymity.
“It is after several layers of filter and verification that we are making details of these people public and we take responsibility for it. Our motive is to expose villains of the Valley. If security agencies want, they can use our investigation and we will give all assistance,” the hacker told over the encrypted call. They revealed that supporters are roping in teachers and preachers to target young Kashmiris.
The investigation carried by the hackers also shows financial transactions into teenagers’ accounts, who are used as carriers for terrorists.
