The children and relatives of separatist leaders are far from the Kashmir valley. And in their absence the separatist leaders has set the valley to burn. There have been multiple reports depicting the absence of separatist leaders’ sons in protest, facing bullets or pelting stones.

Most of the information is not updated for long time in Kashmir, the most beautiful valley on earth. The valley remains centre of attention because of both beautiful romance as well as violent conflict. A paradox in itself, Kashmir has been exploited by anyone who has laid hands on it. Amid the violent conflict, cleansing of militants and initiative for talks, the separatist leaders are not an exclusive in exploiting Kashmir.

The children and relatives of separatist leaders are far from the Kashmir valley. And in their absence the separatist leaders has set the valley to burn. There have been multiple reports depicting the absence of separatist leaders’ sons in protest, facing bullets or pelting stones.

The Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti herself had pointed finger at the separatists being at safe havens and handing over stones to poor children.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani

According to reports, Syed Ali Shah Geelani spends his winters in Delhi to avoid the harsh weather in the cold valley. His eldest son Nayeem and his wife both are doctors who left for Pakistan after their Visa was not extended by India. Nayeem had an option to apply for a citizenship of Pakistan but he chose against it. Geelani’s second son Zahoor lives in Delhi with his family. Zahoor’s son Izhaar was working as a crew member of a private airline company spice Jet in India and is now settled in Dubai. Geelani’s daughter Farhat is a teacher in Jeddah, married to an engineer.

Syed Salahuddin

Hizbul Mujahideen Chief Syed Salahuddins name came into limelight frequently in last two months for instigating and funding the turmoil in Kashmir. He lives in Pakistan under the security cover of ISI. His oldest son Shakeel Yousuf works as medical assistant in Srinagar. Second son Javed Yousf works in the education department of Jammu and Kashmir. Third son Shahid Yousf was doing research in 2010 at Sher-e-Kashmir University of agricultural science and Technology, Srinagar. Salahuddin’s fourth son Wahid Yousf is a doctor and the youngest Mueed Yousf an engineer. His elder daughter Naseema is a government teacher in the valley and younger daughter Akthara is an arts teacher in the valley again. None of his son or daughters are in any way participant in “Jihad” In Kashmir.

Asiya Andrabi—Dukhtar-e-Millat

Asiya Andrabi—Dukhtar-e-Millat her supporters call her “the loin lady” and she has two sons Muhammad bin Qasim and Ahmed bin Qasim. Older son lives in Australia pursuing M.Tech degree. Her younger son was never seen with the stone palters in Srinagar. On the one hand Asiya has been waging war against the central Government and on the other she pursue for an Indian passports for her son to send him abroad for higher studies.

Masarat Alam Chairman of Muslim League

Masarat Alam Chairman of Muslim League and Geelani’s apparent heir has two sons in New Delhi. Masarat is the “hero” for stone pelting youth; but surprisingly he has kept his son away from this “noble cause” known as “Jihad”.

Mirwaiz Omar Farooq

Mirwaiz Omar Farooq spearheads one of the main factions of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference. In 2002 he married Sheeba Masoodi an American citizen settled in Buffalo, and eventually acquired US green card for him. Mirwaiz’s wife too happens to be an American citizen is a doctor by profession.

Farida Behenji The chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement

Farida Behenji The chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement has a son Ruma Maqbool. Maqbool is a doctor by profession and is well settled in South Africa, leading a secure and posh life away from his mother’s call for “Jihad”.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai is a strong voice in Hurriyat and one of the name to be the successor of Geelani. Sehrai is actually from Pakistan. His son Abid studied computer engineering and is now settled in Dubai.

Ayaz Akbar

Ayaz Akbar he is also from the Hurriyat conference and has a son Sarwar Yakub who did MBA from Pane and is not in Kashmir.

Abdul Aziz Dar

Abdul Aziz Dar, also known as General Musa has two sons. Older one working in the government sector in Kashmir and younger studied Computer Applications in Pakistan and is settled there. While General Musa was playing a crucial role in instigating and sustaining 2010 Kashmir stone pelting, his sons were far from this “Jihad” living a safe life.
