UGC inaugurates DDU Kaushal Kendra Labs at Jamia Millia Islamia

Professor Jaspal S. Sandhu, Secretary UGC inaugurated two newly developed laboratories of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra in the presence of Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia.

This Laboratory has been developed in order to train B.Voc. Lab Science students for all Histo-Pathological, Micro-Biological, Haematological and Biochemical techniques. All the equipments required for this lab namely, Spectrophotometer, Calorimeter, Microscopes, Ph-Meter, Microtomes, ELISA Reader and the like have been procured out of the funds that the UGC has granted for the Kaushal Kendra.

Also present at the inauguration ceremony were the Registrar, Professor Shahid Ashraf and the Finance Officer, Mr. Sanjay Kumar along with Deans- Faculty of Dentistry, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, the Dean of Students Welfare and several Heads of Departments and faculties members from across the university. The function began with theiftaarfollowed by the inauguration of Medical Lab Science Laboratory.

This was followed by the inauguration of Medical Electrophysiology Lab, located on the 1stfloor of the Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences building. This laboratory has been developed to train B.Voc. Medical Electrophysiology students in Electrocardiography, Electromayography, Evoked Potential, Polysomnography and Electroencephalography techniques. All the high-tech equipments have been purchased in multiples out of the fund UGC has given to the DDU Kaushal Kendra.

Faculty members and students of Kaushal Kendra gave a live demonstration of these diagnostic techniques of ECG, EMG and EEG. The Secretary, UGC and Vice Chancellor, JMI later interacted with students and congratulated them on the progress made by DDU Kaushal Kendra, JMI in a short period of time. Both, the Secretary, UGC and the Vice Chancellor promised to extend their full support to the Kaushal Kendra and advised the students to take advantage of these facilities and work hard for their future.
