‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ begins at the Jamia Millia Islamia

Staff members and students of the Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) today rendered the National Anthem at the Vice Chancellor Office Lawns as part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to commemorate 75th year of the Independence of India.

‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ begins at the Jamia Millia IslamiaStaff members and students of the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) today rendered the National Anthem at the Vice Chancellor Office Lawns as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate 75th year of the Independence of India. The program was conducted following Covid-19 protocol.

Under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor JMI Prof. Najma Akhtar, the program was led by the Registrar, JMI Dr. Nazim Husain Al Jafri and coordinated by Prof. Mohd. Muslim Khan, Political Science Department and National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the university.

Jamia Millia IslamiaApart from this the university is organising a number of programs to observe ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, being done on the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Staff members and students of the JMI will participate in a ‘Freedom Run’ to be organised on 13th August, 2021. Translation and book writing workshops among other things will be organised by various departments of the university as part of the Mahotsav.

‘Swachchta Abhiyan’ to be coordinated by the NSS unit of the university in and around the campus will be organised. Radio talk on Swachh Bharat, Covid-19 awareness and mental health issues will also be organised. Dengue and Malaria awareness programs will also be organised by the NSS unit. All programs will be organized with due compliance of Covid appropriate behavior.
