"While we must obey the required instructions provided by the government, we must also obey the Sunnah of Qurbani because our faith has given us the duty to protect humanity from all kinds of trouble, illness, epidemic etc. But we must take care of other things so as not to hurt the feelings of the brethren of our country".

azrat Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kachuchhovi, Founder and President of the All India Ulema and Mashaikh Board and Chairman of the World Sufi Forum, while appealing to the Muslims of India on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha in the Covid-19, said: “While we need to follow the necessary instructions issued by the government, we also have to follow the Sunnah of Qurbani (voluntary sacrifice) because our religion has given us the responsibility to protect the society from all kinds of mischief, disease, epidemic etc. But we have to take care of certain things in order not to hurt the feelings of the brethren of our country”.

“Please do not sacrifice on the streets and public places, and if possible, arrange in large premises. And the animals that are legally prohibited must be avoided.  Do not shed the blood of the sacrifice in the drains but bury it, bury the part of the animal that is not eaten. Take special care of cleanliness, no one should be bothered because of you.”

“Do not make a video of the sacrifice and never post it on social media. Make special arrangements to distribute the meat of the sacrifice to the poor and distressed people. Those who intend to make a voluntary sacrifice should better help the people starving from flood, unemployment due to the corona epidemic. Help the troubled unemployed poor laborers or people in other troubles financially, maintain discipline and do not break the law. Do not take the meat of the victim openly, and help the police administration maintain law and order”.
