THE THIRD MONTH OF ISLAM RABI-AL-AWWAL

Rabi-al-Awwal is an extremely special day. Let us rejoice on this day when the greatest gift was given by Allah ta'ala, His most precious creation to all of us, and the most beloved Messenger, Hadhrat Muhammad Mustapha (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

THE THIRD MONTH OF ISLAM RABI-AL-AWWALE

very day of the month: The propitious practice of the Holy Prophet’s (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) Companions (the Sahaba) during the month of Rabi-al-Awwal, 20 raka’at salaat were to be read and offered its thawwab to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). They recited Surah Fatiha at every Raka’at once followed by Surah Ikhlas twenty-one times. When the salaat is over, recite Durood Sharif 100 times and Surah Yaseen three times.

To recite the Holy Qur’an from Rabi-al-Awwal 1st to 12th. Recite the Holy Qur’an at least once between the sighting of the 1st moon and the 12th moon Rabi-al-Awwal, and give our beloved Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) his thawwab throughout the Week.

It is mentioned in Al-Mashaikh ‘s book that when Rabi-Al-Awwal moon is seen,. From it Night until the end of the month, if you read the the darood (salutation) written below, upon the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) after the prayer of Isha one thousand and twenty-five times. Then there’s that in his vision, the individual will see the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and that durood is:

”Allahumma salli alaa Muhamnmadinw wa’ala aali Muhammadin kama sal-laita ala Ibrahima wa  ala aali Ibrahima in-naka Hamidum-Majeed.”

And it is written in the same book Al-Mashaikh that whoever reads the following duroods in the month of Rabi-Al-Awwal 125,000 times, that person will surely see the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in his dream and that darood is:

”As-salaatu was-salaamu alaika ya Rasul-lallah.”

Every single night:

In this month, starting with the sighting of the moon, recite the Durood after the prayers of Isha listed 125 times below. You will have the luxury of seeing the Holy Prophet Inshah-Allah in your vision (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam).
“Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammadin kama sal-laita ala Sayyidina Ibrahima wa ala aalih Sayyidina Ibrahima innaka hamidun majeed.”

1 st Night of Rabi-al-Awwal:

  •  Pray 4 raka’at nawafil salaat. In each raka’at after Surah Fatiha, pray 7 times Surah Ikhlas. Upon completion of the salaat, offer its thawwab to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).
  • In the book Al-Awrad it is written that when the moon of Rabi-Al-Awwal is seen. One should read 16 rakat Nawafil prayers at night by making two rakats intentional. In after Surah Fatiha, per rakat read Surah Ikhlas three times. After reading the 16 Rakats read the following durood (salutation) upon the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) 1000 times and continue reading this darood (salutation) till 12 days:
    ‘Allahumma salli alaa Muhammadinin-Nab-yil ummi-yi wa barakatuhu.”
    Thus, in his dream, he will see the Holy Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) but one must read, after Isha and sleep in wudu (ablution) condition.1st 12 Nights or 2 Nights-the 2nd and the 12th.
  • In the book entitled Jawahir Gaybee, hold for 12 days in the month of Rabi-Al-Awwal sending to the Blessed a present of the 20 raka’at salah (prayer mentioned below) Holy Prophet’s Soul (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam).Because the Companions of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)  Tabaeen and Taba Tabaeen (may Allaah please all of them). Sometimes used as a gift to the soul of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) for the reward of these rakats. The salat prayed this way:

In every rakat surah Ikhlas is read 21 times. When one can not carry on praying this prayer, you must read the 20 Rakats on the 2nd and 12th days for 12 days send the reward of this prayer upon the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Our Beloved have given glad tidings of the Paradise to the readers of this prayer in their dreams.

Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) may our souls be sacrificied upon him. And seeing the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and him (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) giving the glad tiding even though his being behind the curtain is like him (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) truly giving the glad tiding as if living.

On 3 rd Rabi-al-Awwal.  Pray for one of these:

  • Pray 4 raka’at Nawafil salaat.  Recite Ayatul Kursi on every raka’at after Surah Fatiha. Previously, once for Surah Taha, once for Surah Yaseen and once for Surah Ikhlas.
  • Pray 2  raka’at Nawafil salaat. In each raka’at after Surah Fatiha, recite Surah Ikhlas Twenty five times. After the salaat, offer its thawwab to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Then go into the sijdah position and pray for your needs to be fulfilled. These are to be granted Insha-Allah.
  •  A person who prays Surah Ikhlas 360 times or 607 times this day is getting a lot of t hwaab to do so.

12th RABI-AL-AWWAL – BIRTHDAY OF HADHRAT MUHAMMAD MUSTAPHA (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)

This is an extremely special day. Let us rejoice on this day when the greatest gift was given by Allah ta’ala, His most precious creation to all of us, and the most beloved Messenger, Hadhrat Muhammad Mustapha (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). For our help  Allahu ta’ala has declared He would not have created anything if He had not created Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and we love him more than anyone. We will be making a sincere effort to express our love of our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). We will say thank you Allahu ta’ala for being Muslims born and in the Holy Prophet’s Umma (sallallahu Alaihi wasallam), the Umma to which many of the earlier Ambiya (Prophets) (alaihimus-salaam) were mentioned their wish to be born in expressed. Allahu ta’ala sent the earth and 124,000 Prophets. The last Prophet was Holy Prophet (sallalahu alaihi wasallam).

Rasulullah (salllahu alaihi wasallam) used to feast on the Nights of Mawlid and tell the story of events that happened when and during he honored the world and during his childhood. Hadhrat Abu Bakr Sidddique (radi Allahu anhu) at the time of his being Caliph, used to call Sahaba to get together on the nights of Moulood, and chat about t he miraculous events when Rasullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) honoured the world. Allama Maulana Abul-Khattab Maghribi (rahmatullahi alaihi) the famous Ulama, wrote one of Maulood’s first books which he called ‘Kitabul-Tanweer fi Maulood Baseerin-Nazeer’ in which, during the Hijri of the 7th century writes a narrative like this:

“Hadhrat Abdulla ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) recorded that at his house one day, he addressed the circumstances of the birth of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) with others and listeners were reinforced with what they heard, t hey thanked Allah and sent the Holy Prophet Durood (sallallahu alaihi waasllam).  The Holy Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi waasllam), came at that moment suddenly to the assembly, he said to them, “My intercession is made for you agreed.”Hadhrat Abdullah ibne Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) is one thing to note the most respected Ashab citing the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) as if to say, “Abbas is from me, and I am from Abbas.”This was for those who understand the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) status is:
If one tries to understand this remark from the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) with wisdom then one will realise the felicity therein.

SPECIAL PRAYERS DURING THE DAY

  •  Pray 2 raka’at nawafil salaat. In every raka’at after Surah Fatiha, pray Surah Muzammil only. After the salaat, give its thawwab to our Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Then go into sijdah and pray to Allahu ta’ala for the fulfilment of your needs. Insha-Allah these will be granted.
  •  Pray 2 raka’at or 4 raka’at (in 2 salaams) nawafil salaat. In each raka’at after Surah Fatiha, recite Surah Ikhlas 25 times After the salaat give its thawwab to our Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Then go into sijdah and pray to Allahu ta’ala for the fulfilment of your needs.
  •  The Sahaba (radi Allahum anhum) used to recite prayers for thawwab of the Holy Prophet (sallalalhu alaihi wasallam).

SPECIAL DEEDS FOR THE DAY

  •  Be thankful to Allahu ta’ala for His kindness and generosity for sending the beloved
    messenger Hadhrat Muhammad Mustapha (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) on this day for
    our guidance.
  • Pray Durood Sharif and Salaam on the beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) as  much as possible during the day.
  • Ghusl performing, wearing good clean clothes, giving children a present, inviting them to relate and friends …… and so on.
  •  Establish an assembly to discuss our birth, childhood, life and teachings beloved Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) and Islamic origins.

KEEPING FAST ON THIS DAY
On that day one should be fasting. For this the thawwab is equal to Ibadaat 1,000 years.
