Kartarpur corridor: Faith rekindles spark of hope at foundation stone ceremony

The foundation stone of the Pakistan side of the – Corridor was laid on Tuesday by Pakistan PM Imran Khan. The corridor is expected to be completed in six months and will facilitate visa-free movement of Sikh pilgrims to the Nankana Sahib Gurdwara in Kartarpur. Sikh devotees have been demanding the corridor for the past seven decades. However, the event was not bereft of political hyperbole as Imran Khan raised the Kashmir issue and Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu heaped praises on him for agreeing to construct the corridor. Both the comments have gained much political heat since then.
