Importance of Leadership and Leadership Skills

eadership plays a vital role in the success of every organizations and the growth and prosperity of every society. Effective leadership forms the basis or the foundation every success. Indeed, As if proper guidance is essential for the smooth and successful functioning of the society; There lies the importance and alarming need of an effective leadership. Leadership can be defined as the process of inspiring, directing, coordinating, motivating and mentoring individuals or organizations by combining their efforts.

Leadership is not a quality but it is an individual’s behavior. A leader showcases a positive attitude and high self-esteem. He assertively works towards the goal but never gets pushy for it. A continuous self-study, training, evaluation and imbibing positive things in life develop the characteristics of a leader. A leader performs the noble responsibility of activating his subordinates by infusing a sense of positivity and directing them to reach the specific goal. It extends from the simple notions of human life such as family life, team work to the greatest financial institutions and inventions to create wonders in the world. All those amazing inventions and success of great businesses and financial institutions will be a result of combining efforts of a team by an effective leader. Quick decisions have to be taken in business organizations and, active management in horrible occasions such as accidents, disasters, hazards etc.

Indeed ,the growth and prosperity of society and great organizations lies in the hands of Charismatic leaders for whom the world awaits.

Various theories have been formulated for years by psychologists to explain the traits of a leader. Certain traits of a good leader were listed by the researchers as: intelligence, extraversion, and adjustment, openness to experience, general self-efficacy and conscientiousness. It has been inferred that an individual possessing these traits results as a good leader.

The factors which played a crucial role in determining our leadership skill are commitment, confidence, patience, open-mindedness and the ability to communicate effectively. Here our teachers, parents and school management are worth mentioning; the basis of all these qualities developed in our personality is as a result of the opportunities and sincere encouragements from them,. It is our dream to work for the students who can’t expose their potential at dignified occasions due to the financial backwardness.

Indeed, being a leader is a great responsibility than a status. There is certain responsibilities for every person who is bestowed with the gift of leadership. Then serving the gift is their responsibility. The One serves it most effectively will become the great leader.
